Domus Lucis ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our store or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
- Contact details: your name, email, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
- Order details: what you buy, order history, returns and exchanges.
- Payment information: processed securely by Shopify and its payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
- Device and usage data: your IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed and how you got to our site, collected through cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
2. How we use it
- To process, ship and support your orders, including returns and refunds.
- To answer your questions and provide customer service.
- To send order updates, such as confirmations and tracking.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To keep our store secure and prevent fraud.
- To understand how people use our store so we can improve it.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the store:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments.
- Suppliers and shipping carriers, who need your name and address to deliver your order.
- Service providers for email, analytics and customer support, who may only use it to provide those services to us.
- Authorities, when required by law.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal requirements, such as keeping tax records. After that it is deleted or anonymized.
5. How we protect it
Our store runs on Shopify, which uses encryption (SSL) and is PCI-DSS compliant for payments. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information, where we're not legally required to keep it.
- Stop sending you marketing emails.
Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Children
Our store is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
